A warning has been issued to moped and motorbike owners after police have seen a significant rise in the number of motorbike thefts in York.
North Yorkshire Police have said that due to the spike in thefts officers will be carrying out targeted patrols across the city in known hotspots, gathering information and arresting offenders where possible.
To reduce the risk of becoming a victim to these thefts, motorcycle owners are being advised to lock, chain and cover their vehicles.
