Woodthrope and Dringhouses have a spike in vandalism, with Network Rail accused of not doing enough in prevention.
A recent spike in vandalism has hit the areas of Woodthrope and Dringhouses, with Lib Dem ward councillor Ashley Mason calling for Network Rail to fulfil its community responsibilities in order to prevent it. The graffiti has been on display since mid-November on St Helens Road railway bridge, but Network Rail claims that once they have the resources and the weather is dry, the work to remove it will go ahead.
Mason highlights that the lack of action against the original graffiti has given rise to further vandals in the area to continue defacing the bridge and the general degradation of the neighbourhood.
