It is possible that York Art Gallery bosses could consider charging people for entry for the first time since 2020.
York Art Gallery had originally made entry free for visitors to enjoy the permanent exhibitions in a bid to attract more people after the problems faced in the first lockdown.
However, since then, the move to free entry is costing £200,000 per year for the gallery. This is something that York Museums Trust is working on in an attempt to find out if a loss of that proportion is justifiable or not.
