York bus route between York and Wetherby is being cut in the coming weeks due to teh service no longer being deemed commercially viable.
The 412 service which stops in locations such as Tockwith and Rufforth has been sustaining losses since the pandemic and has not been able to receive adequate funding to continue running.
The managing director of Connexion, Craig Temple, stated that the route was “not sustainable” whilst also commenting that whilst funding for everyday buses are being cut, “City of York Council has funding for electric buses in York”.
