A York chef is to compete in BBC’s The Great British Menu. Will Lockwood, the head chef at Roots in Marygate, is set to appear as a contestant on the new series. Roots is owned by Tommy Banks, who became Britain's youngest Michelin-starred chef in 2013 and owns The Black Swan in Oldstead.
Will posted his news on Instagram, stating: ‘I’ll be representing the Northeast on this year's series of The Great British Menu, which is celebrating Britain's success in animation and illustration.’ The series starts on BBC at 8 pm on January 31st.
