With three pre-season friendly fixtures penned so far for Adam Hinshelwood, the announcement of League Two side Notts County at home becomes City's fourth friendly to be revealed ahead of the summer.

Stuart Maynard, formerly of Wealdstone, took charge in January after promotion winning manager Luke Williams moved on to challenge himself at Championship side Swansea City.

Notts County had a League Two title-challenging start to the 2023/24 season, sitting in the top two after week 14.

A slight dip in form saw County become play-off contenders, before eventually securing a 14th-placed finish in their first season back at League Two level.

City secured their National League status at the first time of asking on matchday 46 of the 2022/23 season, away to Notts County back in April 2023.

Loanee Shaqai Forde struck in the 88th minute, salvaging a point on the road after Macauley Langstaff gave County the lead.

Notts County won the National League Play Off Final at Wembley Stadium, against Chesterfield, following the end of the season fixture against the Minstermen.
