Former York College student Lisa Parkinson has been awarded a BAFTA to complete a hat-trick for the college’s alumni.
On Sunday night, Lisa won Best Makeup and Hair Design for ITV’s The Long Shadow, which tells the story of the five-year search for Peter Sutcliffe, the Yorkshire Ripper.
The hat-trick comes after two other alumni, Nadia Stacey and Freda Ellis won an Oscar and an Emmy respectively. Lisa was one of the first students to complete York College’s Media Make-Up course run by Yorkshire Television at the time and has since worked in the industry for 24 years, and has worked on multiple sets, including Heartbeat, Emmerdale and All Creatures Great and Small.
