Labour Councillor, Michael Pavlovic has called for an increase in affordable housing claiming the current target of 221 homes per year till 2023 is a “crass abdication of the responsibility of this plan and the Council”.

Labour Councillor, Michael Pavlovic has called for an increase in affordable housing claiming the current target of 221 homes per year till 2023 is a “crass abdication of the responsibility of this plan and the Council”. In stark contrast to the current plan, is it thought that the target needs to be in the order of 573 affordable homes per year, more than double!

Council spokesman Justin Gardiner said “We recognise the need to do as much as we can to provide affordable housing but we don’t consider, given how far we’ve pushed the housing number up…that there’s any merit in doing anything further.”
