The York Interfaith Group, which regularly makes contributions to the Thought for Today feature on Love in the Morning on Jorvik Radio, has recently celebrated its 35th Anniversary.
It was established in 1989 and aims to promote mutual respect and understanding between different faith communities in York. It organises monthly intellectual events and works in partnership with local organisations to ensure the safety and well-being of faith groups in the city.
It celebrated its 35th anniversary with a special event held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Acomb which included many faiths and community leaders, as well as committee members past and present. It formed part of the annual Interfaith Week, which included a variety of activities such as talks, meditation sessions, and visits to houses of worship.
York Interfaith Group's next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 7th at 7pm with a talk by Hilary Moxon on the stained glass of York Minster.
