York Maze is due to close today (Monday 18th) and tomorrow (Tuesday 19th) amidst this week’s highly intense heatwave.

York Maze is due to close today (Monday 18^th) and tomorrow (Tuesday 19^th) amidst this week’s highly intense heatwave.

The decision by those who run the maze, has been taken after news that temperatures in York may rise to 35 degrees Celsius on Monday and 39 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

York Maze based the decision on the wellbeing of visitors as well as staff, who often wear costumes such as dinosaurs, crows and cows.

A spokesperson for York Maze has explained that all ticket holders have been contacted and offered new dates or a refund.
