York Motorbikes have waited a long time to be able to announce their new premises but it has finally happened today, Saturday 1st April!

York Motorbikes have waited a long time to be able to announce their new premises but it has finally happened and today, ( Saturday 1st April), they had their grand opening with Peter Hickman, the International Motorcycle Racer, British Superbike Champion and the fastest road racer in the world officially opened the premises!

Jorvik Radio was also there broadcasting live from their showroom at The Raylor Centre.

There was an amazing turn out of people – all of whom seemed to know one another (they say the biker world is a real community) with free tea, coffee and scumptuous cakes going down well.  Even the Fire Brigade came along to offer support and offer information and advice.

Having outgrown their previous premises (which were also at The Raylor Centre) York Motorbikes has been busy behind the scenes gearing up for the launch of their exciting new showroom in this very central position in York.

Owner David Jeffrey known as ‘Jeff’ has worked at various dealers around York and has 30 years experience, building up a good reputation. He also worked for the Honda Britain Race Team in the late 90’s. In 2016, he decided to take the plunge and set up on his own as a repairer.

Jeff is supported by Sam Feakes a mechanic and Natalie (Nat) Garrington who is Manager for the business.  Jeff was actually Sam Feake’s apprentice when he first started out!

Nat says they have waited three years for the move to happen and a unit has been specially built for them at The Raylor Centre, off James Street built over two floors with a fully equipped workshop and showroom.

York Motorbikes offers a full range of fast efficient services covering all makes and models of motorcycles and are a UK leading independent motorbike retailer for high end models as well as other brands.  Nat says “we are extremely thorough and treat every bike as if it’s our own, we will give you an honest fault report and quote for any job.” All jobs are priced individually.

Not only can they supply, repair, service and mot your motorbike but they also offer a “moving” service to get your bike from A to B even if you purchased it elsewhere.  They also offer wheel powder coating, exhaust ceramic coating, tyre fitting and fault diagnostics providing genuine and non-genuine parts to suit the customers preferences.

With a reputation for good customer service and high standards, obviously they want to concentrate on the needs of their customer base in York but being recognised as a leading UK independent motorbike retailer they are “geared” up for dealing nationwide and not being brand specific this opens up the market.   They have something for everybody.

Nat says they are recognised as “honest and trustworthy and the motorcycle world is a real community, we all talk, we all know one another, and we don’t see ourselves as having competitors – we have a good relationship with other dealers in York.”

York Motorbikes is very central in York – situated off James Street round back of The Raylor Centre at unit 30A.
