Rachael Maskell is calling on a York school to withdraw its expansion plan.
The York MP has stated that St Peter’s School’s proposals would have a negative impact on the environment if they were to go ahead.
The school is applying to create a hockey pitch, which would be floodlit, tennis and netball courts, cricket nets and car parking and coach drop off area.
The stance on the school’s plans is clear, with 116 objections versus 29 votes in support.
Some concerns were that the pitches would be open late and therefore prone to noise pollution, as well as the impact of the plans on wildlife.
