York Mystery plays have returned with the first show being performed this Sunday 26th June all day.
The plays are performed on wagons across the city placed in locations such as St Helens Square and The Shambles Market Place and each one will tell the story of Christ from creation to rebirth.
This will be the first time the plays have been performed since 2018 but there are special midsummer performances to come on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd evenings.
