York Pride announces fundraising events for 2023

York Pride have announced a series of fundraising events to help raise funds for the main event which will be held on Saturday 3rd June 2023 at York Racecourse.

York Pride have announced a series of fundraising events to help raise funds for the main event which will be held on Saturday 3^rd June 2023 at York Racecourse.

York Pride's event programme starts with the first annual charity ball on Saturday 11th March held at the Hilton in York, where guests will enjoy a sparkling reception with canapes, a 2 course meal, live entertainment and an eveing promised to sparkle.

Greg Stephenson, chair of York Pride said: ‘York Pride is North Yorkshire’s most popular Pride event and in the current climate, costs are rising and we need to raise funds. However, we are determined to deliver another fantastic event on June 3^rd. We also recognise that Pride should not only be about a single day and the events programme launched this year allows us to celebrate and come together more frequently with members of the LGBTQ+ community, our allies, friends and supporters.

Other events confirmed include; ‘Cruising down the Ouse’ on Sunday 4^th June in partnership with City Cruises York which is the official closing party for the pride weekend. ‘Outrageous’ which used to be a staple event in the community on Friday evenings, will make a return for one night only and work is going on behind the scene for the return of another past favourite!

York Pride are keen to work with other organisations and businesses across the city and are already supporting York Festival of Ideas who are hosting many LGBTQIA+ talks and performances as part of their festival in June and also Barley Hall and York Castle Museum as part of LGBT+ History Month.
