York pub to re-open for first time since COVID-19

The Duke of York in Gate Helmsley has been shut since Covid but its owners, Star Pubs, say they are investing in the place with a view to finding new tenants and reopening it once again.

An exciting transformation is underway at a well-known pub in a village near York. The Duke of York in Gate Helmsley has been shut since Covid but its owners, Star Pubs, say they are investing in the place with a view to finding new tenants and reopening it once again.

Details on the Star Pubs website say that inside the pub, an exciting transformation is underway with a full overhaul and redecoration of the trade area, bar, and toilets. They also said that externally, the pub will undergo a significant transformation with a beer patio being set up at the front, with a spacious terrace with a grassed garden at the back.
