Research by house buying experts, housebuyers4u concluded that our very own York is the most desirable place to live in the UK.
Using data from the Home Office and Tripadvisor, the firm created an average score of 71 out of 100 based on culture, green spaces, housing and crime, 40% above the national average.
Our city excelled most in the green category, with a score of 100 thanks to our 43 nature and park landscapes, including Rowntree Park and Museum Gardens.
We also scored well in culture with a score of 78 thanks to our range of attractions such as the prestigious York Racecourse and the York Minster.
