York restaurant and karaoke bar where a teenager alleged her drink was spiked has had its license stripped.

York restaurant and karaoke bar where a teenager alleged her drink was spiked has had its license stripped. Councillors decided to revoke Sky Blue’s license after police claimed they didn't trust the operator to follow the rules ‘when no one is looking over their shoulder’.

Officers visited the Barbican Road eatery in January after a 16-year-old girl said she was spiked on a night out. According to her statement, a drug test from a chemist the following day was positive for benzodiazepines. Under Sky Blue’s old name, the Regency, previously lost its license when it was discovered that workers were being paid as little as £2 an hour.
