After qualifying in March at the English Championships, 30 athletes from the local area will be representing the country.
A martial arts team based in Acomb is set to represent England this autumn. Team X Martial Arts School is sending 30 athletes to Albuferiua to compete at the WKC World Championships after being crowned champions at the English Championships with 13 gold medals in March.
Members will be training up to six times a week in preparing for the world stage. The club has previously reached this level of success with 11 world titles gained last year; owner Luke Burks said he is “extremely proud” of the school's success.
