York welcomed thousands of runners to its streets yesterday, for what was the ninth Yorkshire Marathon Festival.
The event included the marathon itself, Yorkshire 10 mile and Yorkshire Marathon Relay, all ran on the historic streets of York.
Runners of all abilities took part in the races, as well as a competitive field of elite runners who aimed to win cash prizes.
The marathon started and finished at Heslington Campus at the University of York, just outside the city centre.
