Motorcycle Racing driver, Joey Thompson, from York has been waiting two years to get to Macau and make his debut at this prestigious circuit. His dream has now come true as he will be racing there on 17th and 18th November as part of the Heat Tech racing team.

Joey Thompson is to head to China’s southern coast to compete at the famous Macau Grand Prix onboard the Heattech racing BMW S1000RR.

With the cancellations of the previous events at Macau, Joey has been waiting two years to make his debut at this unique circuit.

We have had long discussions with the event organisers as to how we are going to make it all possible, especially as privateers! We have a motorcycle and a full van load of equipment that has to be flown across the world for us to compete. Luckily I have had a lot of support from the Macau committee and have a great bunch of personal sponsors supporting me!

Joey - “This is a great opportunity for me! The Macau GP is a huge prestigious event and the coverage that it will get for myself and the team is amazing. With over 50,000 spectators and over 750,000 watching worldwide this is a no brainer in terms of boosting my career profile! The current situation with quarantine and the amount of travelling is not ideal, but this is something I have wanted to be a part of for a while now so I must grab the opportunity and go chasing the dream!”

Nigel Humphreys (Team Manager) - “It’s an event that I’ve always been interested in. I believe that by doing it it will help increase the coverage to the rest of the world. I also think it will be a good learning curve for the team for future international events”

If anyone would like to be a part of this journey and promote your company and support us we have various different ways of getting involved.

The Macau Grand Prix is held from the 17th - 18th November.
